Projects

I have participated in three missions for Wetlands International (WI) to Sudan and Southern Sudan. The first two in 2006 and 2007 were targeted at organising and performing avian influenza sampling of wild birds. Together with partners from The Netherlands, Scotland and Kenya I gave training in wetland conservation and waterbird monitoring, executed wild bird catching, handling and sampling.

In 2008 I joined a WI mission to Southern Sudan in order to establish a cooperation between WI, and the Ministry of Environment, Wildlife Conservation and Tourism, give training workshops to local wildlife rangers and to carry out reconnaisance flights over the Sudd. Furthermore, I have spent 2 weeks to make a preliminary photographic coverage of the Sudd, its wildlife and people (see photo projects page).
