Het is altijd goed plannen om bepaalde soorten van de voorjaarsflora te kunnen tegenkomen, in ieder geval om ze massaal te zien bloeien. En dan moet je ook nog erg goed rekening houden met regionale verschillen, die soms wel twee weken uiteenlopen tussen bijvoorbeeld Zuid-Limburg en Groningen. In de twee militaire oefenterreinen die defensie rijk is in Zuid-Limburg was ik op het goede moment, althans voor Bosanemoon. De foto laat zien dat deze planten profiteren van de nog open kronen van het eikenbos, door de takken is de blauwe lucht te zien. Voordat de bladeren aan de bomen komen moet de bloei zijn voltooid.

For seeing the spring flowers, and moreover to see them flowering in great numbers, one has to plan well. On top of that you have to take into account the regional differences in flowering periods, for instance in the south some species start two weeks earlier than in the north of the country. In two military ranges in the south of Limburg, I was at the right moment for photographing flowering Wood anemone. The photo show how the plants benefit from the open canopy, through the branches the blue sky is visible. Before the leaves grow, the plants have to finish flowering.
