This autumn I had chosen Slovenia as a travel destination. I have visited the country twice, in spring and summer, and I wanted to experience the autumn as well. This time I did not hunt bears or other wildlife, but my targets were atmosphere, landscapes and autumn colors. And yes, of course I wouldn’t refrain from shooting wild animals if the opportunity would arise. After three initial days of sunshine, the weather changed and a cold front moved over the country, resulting in strong winds and a snow cover of 25 cm! All weather circumstances in 10 days. It was again a relief to wander through the forests following my intuition and senses and breathing the atmosphere, before grabbing my camera to eventually let the shutter click.

Often the small events or ordinary species evoke a sense of wonder. It is not all great and overwhelming what we should be looking for. Nature is just a doorstep away, in this case literally. What is in the mind of this snail to climb a spider web? One can imagine all kind of stories about what is happening here. The one young snail is lazy an gets a lift from its mother, the other is impatient and calls its mum to hurry up. It doesn’t matter what is happening here, the only thing we have to do is enjoy it.
