Ravenwood workshop: coming to an end, start of the trip
Today is the last day at the Ravenwood workshop. For seven days we have had the opportunity to enjoy the Northwoods and to learn from one of the greatest masters in nature photography. It is a magical area. Something makes it special, difficult to explain, there is an air of calm and peace and yet it os full of life. The autumn colors have faded, but there is still plenty for beautiful photography. We have had seven days of clear skies with a warm sun, not easy to take photos in. But that makes the challenge even bigger. Jim took us to his bush-camp where he took a lot of his wolf photos. He gave a very inspiring talk about his development as a photographer. He showed me a few of his special spots on the map, which made me go there on my own. It is special to see that many of his photos were taken just within yards from his home. This afternoon I will take the canoe and start my 7-day journey into the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. I am looking forward to it!
Cheers, Niels
